Hi everyone! The past week has been filled with ups and downs.
We took Addison last weds to Amarillo to have the follow up tests for her UTI done. They did 2 tests, one was a renal ultrasound, and the other a test where her bladder was filled with a special dye and then watched on a fluoroscope to see if there was any reflux to her kidneys. The bladder test came back clear, but the ultrasound on her kidneys showed some fluid in the drainage system of the kidneys. Our doctor thought that this was possibly left over from before she was born, but decided to follow up with a repeat ultrasound in the coming months.
On Saturday, the on-call doctor from our pediatrician's office called to let us know that the urine culture they pulled while doing the tests had once again shown a bacterial growth---in other words, another UTI. So, Addison is now on a new antibiotic and has an appointment with the pediatric urologist on the 8th of Oct. I am glad though, as there is obviously something going on, and at this point I just want to get it figured out. I would rather be pro-active now, than regret not doing something and being in a bigger mess later on.
On a good note, she has slept all the way through the night a few nights this week, so maybe we are heading back to that full-time...........Lord knows I could use that! ;0)
